It was nearly 2 years ago when I first wrote about my idea of The Good Life. A couple of years ago we made the same sojourn up to Michigan that we took then. In fact, we've made this same trip right around the same weekend 3 years in a row now. That makes a tradition, right? As always it was just what we each needed. A weekend filled with good food, good company, lots of drinks, a day spent at the beach, going to bed early and lots of good conversation. Some images from the weekend:
:: outside of Ipso Facto in Three Oaks, MI
:: little e with old truck in Three Oaks
::In the grasses behind the beach
:: my favorite waiting-for-dinner snack
::I mean, come on, that's good eats.
I usually spend the drive home devising plans so that I too can buy a weekend/summer home in Harbor Country. I dream of a home (seriously I have dreamed this) in the woods and on the beach. I would have my own weekends there filled with friends, food, drink, beach, naps, more food and good conversation. So thankful that we get to go up and spend this time with our friends every year. It is the reminder I need of what "the good life" can be.
