About a year-and-a-half ago I bought and moved into my mom’s condo. Save for a couple of painted rooms and a few shifts of furniture…much of it remains the same as my mom had it. Same furniture, same “things” here and about. My sister and I have slowly gone through most of everything and decided what to keep, but there still seems to be so much to do in order to make it “mine”.
December is going to be all about making these changes. I’m thinking a little bit of that tornado needs to sweep through this place.
First on the agenda: the massive built-in bookcase.
Here it is mid-redo. Please excuse the mess of resorting
All of the books to the left of the door were my folks’…the small shelves to the right are mine.
I need your help, people. Put on your design hats and bring me some good ideas!
Here is where I’ve started:
- I like books of similar size and color to be grouped together, but what if you don’t have enough of a group to fill a shelf?
- The 2 shelves below the large shelf all the way to the left are filled with CDs…there are about 500 more I was thinking of trying to include somehow in the shelves…ridiculous or do-able?
- What about putting a small tv in that middle large shelf? It’s about 27 inches wide
- Take the power cord off the doorknob or leave it? :)
Seriously all the ideas you have…send them my way
