I’m a little late in posting about the blizzard. It’s old news right? And my part of the story isn’t as exciting as, say, the story these folks have to tell

My favorite nicknames of this storm:
- SnOMG!
- Blizzaster
- Snopocalypse
- Thundersnow-down! (I made that one up)
Anyhow, my storm was like most people, but unlike many I live right on the lake and have a virtually uninterrupted view of said lake. Most of the year this is a dream. On nights when the winds get up to 60 mph and there is nothing in the way to block it – it’s a little worrisome. I did what I could to stave off the cold air filtering in through my old, old windows. Finally I hung a sheet up to cut off the room with all the windows from the rest of my place. When the storm was at it’s worst I noticed that the sheet was billowing from the wind that had to cross the room to reach it. Needless to say, the wind was wicked and the snow heavy.
Here are some of my own images from the Blizzaster.
Above photo is before/during storm. Below is the same street the next day. BLIZZARDO!
This is snow that fell inside my home
What blew in through our building’s front door
And all the rest…
Please notice height of snow drift and height of first floor of house.
Apparently storm windows have their limitations. I had about 3 feet of snow in-between all my windows.
So in the end it’s just a bunch of snow.
