AH, this was a rough patch. I found myself really struggling with the introduction of a certain character. A character I planned on being an integral part of the story. I just couldn’t find his voice. I didn’t know what he would say or how he would say it. It stumped me for days. Then on the morning of day 9, I sat down at my computer and decided he had to go. He wasn’t coming to me because perhaps he doesn’t belong.
RIP Warren.
That left me trying to figure out how the story will work without him. It will thankfully. Over the weekend I pieced together all of the stuff I’ve written here and there for this story and finally compiled them together. Doing so brought my word count up to over 25,000. This gives me some excellent breathing room for the remaining 18 days of writing. I’m at a place where I’m not sure how to get to the next place, but that’s what writing everyday helps with…just getting the words out and finding out where you end up.
So as it goes – not a ton of gems I’m happy to share today, but there is this one:
She’s not the only one who can hurt a person.
Does that sound menacing? It’s supposed to sound a bit menacing.
okay, back to the writing down of word after word!
