I just learned that Book of Mormon made it’s debut in 2011. That means I’ve been wanting to see if for 4 years. That’s not so long in Broadway-musical-terms! And I know that I am not alone in my love for Matt Stone and Trey Parker. But here are 3 facts you may not know:
- We went to the same college (University of Colorado/Boulder) though we never met (I don’t think – it was college, I don’t remember everything)
- They made a movie in college that became a bit of an immediate cult classic and was played at parties (how much time has to pass before something can be considered a ‘cult classic’? Am I pushing it?)
- It too was a musical! Specifically “Cannibal! the musical about the first convicted cannibal in the US – Alferd Packer
Okay, anyhow. My friend Krissy and I made the 13 mile drive in a whopping 1.5 hours. Damn you Friday night traffic in the rain!!! We missed the very first moments of the play, but thank to You Tube I’ve now seen it:
And then we proceded to laugh and laugh and laugh. If you have the chance to see it for yourself. DO IT.
